Author Career
At 23, I self-published my first book through Authorhouse Publishing and marketed it myself through social media, poetry readings and networking. It's five years later and my book can be found in three libraries, I am still receiving royalty checks and I am being asked to talk at author fairs. It's been a great ride and I am looking forward to publishing again.

Referendum on Ballot for Indian Head Park Residents: Indian Head Park is hoping to pass two referendums on the November ballot — one will be geared toward saving residents money while the other will be asking for some.

Westchester church rededicates cross moved off public land: The cross that stood on the median in front of Faith
Lutheran Church in Westchester for at least 35 years was removed last Sept. 11
for reasons of separation of church and state. This September it was replanted,
on church grounds.
Rabbit Winner Needs No Luck: CHARLESTON - Melanie Allenbaugh of Mattoon didn't need a lucky rabbit's foot with her at the Coles County Fairgrounds on Sunday for the 4-H rabbit show: She had the experience instead.
